Description

What is an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)2

Autism spectrum disorder is present in the first years of life.

Persons with an ASD diagnosis show persistent deficits in communication and social interactions, combined with restricted and repetitive behaviours, activities and interests.

This implies a significant impact on their social, school, professional functioning, as well as on any important area of their life.

(2) The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) replaces the « Pervasive developmental disorder » (PDD) since the publication of the DSM-V, 2015)
