Starting on April 1, 2016, a second dose of chickenpox vaccine will be added to the vaccination schedule of children aged 4 to 6 years.
The free second dose will:
- better protect the child
- result in better control of the infection
- reduce the number of cases
Symptoms of chickenpox include skin rash, with fever and itching. The infection is very contagious and can cause serious complications like pneumonia, encephalitis, shingles or other.
