Even during the pandemic
“Do you need to consult a family doctor about a health problem or for a medical follow-up? It’s possible and safe, even during the pandemic.” That was the message Dr. François Loubert, head of Montréal’s regional department of general medicine (DRMG) delivered to Montrealers during Thursday’s press conference.
“Taking care of your health is important. Postponing appointments or follow-up visits with a doctor can have serious health consequences,” said Dr. Loubert.
Montrealers can call Info-Santé 811 any time to talk with a nurse for advice, to find out what to do, or to be referred to the appropriate resource, if necessary.
If you need to consult a family doctor
- If you have a family doctor, contact your doctor or usual clinic to make an appointment.
- If you don’t have a family doctor, contact the clinic where you usually go. You can also book an appointment online through platforms such as Québec Medical Appointment Schedule.
Consultations with a health or social service professional can be done over the phone. Telephone consultations are the preferred option in the current context of the pandemic. If you must go to a clinic for your appointment, rest assured that the necessary measures have been taken to ensure your safety and the safety of clinic staff.
If you have symptoms of influenza, de gastroenteritis or COVID-19, and need to consult a family doctor, call 514-644-4545 or 1-877-644-4545.
If your life or the life of someone you know is in danger, call 911 right away.
