Preventing gambling and substance use problems

Drugs, including alcohol and cannabis, affect bodily functions and the central nervous system. They can cause many psychological and physical effects. Various problems, like poisoning and addiction, are also linked with the use of alcohol and other drugs.

Gambling can also become problematic when it causes more trouble than pleasure. No matter which game you play, winning is always just a matter of luck.

Addictions Awareness Week will take place from November 19 to 25, 2017

Noémie Lacerte, Guillaume Durenceau-Thibert, Mila Taillefer, William Nadon and Théo Abbaci, all of whom are Web influencers well known to children, are sending a message of awareness about winning solutions to challenges, as well as the risks and consequences of using alcohol or other drugs and of gambling.

The campaign themes include the following:
