The first profile for Montréal

The Montréal regional public health department has analyzed the data collected for the survey Enquête québécoise sur le cannabis 2018.

The survey provides the first detailed data on use and perceptions of cannabis.

It is a starting point from which to track changes in people’s use of cannabis and their practices.

Guiding prevention efforts

The Montréal regional public health department has analyzed the data collected for the survey Enquête québécoise sur le cannabis 2018.

The survey provides the first detailed data on use and perceptions of cannabis.

It is a starting point from which to track changes in people’s use of cannabis and their practices.

Having a profile of cannabis use in the region makes it possible to better guide prevention efforts and adapt services available in Montréal.

The public health department works in collaboration with its partners in schools, the community and the health network to delay onset of cannabis use by young people, prevent problematic use and reduce harm in Montréal’s adult population.

Did you know that half of Montrealers (51%) aged 15 and over believed it is socially acceptable to use cannabis occasionally, compared with a strong majority who held this view related to alcohol use (88%)?
