People of legal age can now legally buy and use cannabis. The goal of cannabis legalization is to protect public health and safety.

How? By providing access to legal, quality-controlled products. Smoking, vaping or eating cannabis is not necessarily harmless and can cause health risks. It’s better to be informed, whether or not you plan to use it.

Although cannabis has been in the headlines for months now, it can be difficult to find a reliable source of information on this topic. That’s why the Québec government now has an online site: encadrementcannabis.gouv.qc.ca. The site explains the legal aspects of cannabis, the effects of the drug, and health risks linked to its use.

  • Facts about cannabis and its effects
  • Advantages of buying from legal outlets
  • Responsible use
  • How to talk about cannabis with teens
  • Statistics for Montréal
  • Services available

A series of video clips is also accessible. You can watch interviews with experts, doctors, researchers and care providers, who dispel myths and misconceptions, and provide insight into the latest scientific knowledge on this subject.
