In response to information reported in the media today, I would like to point out how my words may have been misinterpreted.
First, I would like to emphasize that I have full confidence in how the Government of Québec is managing the COVID-19 crisis.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Montréal’s health and social services network and the regional public health department, with the support of the government, have worked tirelessly to curb the crisis, in collaboration with the City of Montréal and various partners.
The contributions of all parties involved are essential, and I have full confidence in our collective capacity to make it through this historic crisis.
It is normal that the crisis, which involves all regions of the province and the various ministries, be managed from Québec, where our government sits.
As for the ongoing management of the pandemic, we maintain close ties with Québec’s provincial public health authority and the government to ensure the situation is managed in the best ways possible.
