As part of the 3rd Goldie Raymer commemorative conference, at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH), on Monday October 31, Dr. Thomas T. Perls will deliver a lecture titled "The Longevity Marathon. Lessons in Living to 100."
Among other subjects, Doctor Perls will speak about the world’s largest scope genetic and social study conducted on centenarians and their families. The public is invited to attend this free annual conference, organized by the Geriatric Department of the Jewish General Hospital.
"A key point that we always emphasize is that our ultimate goal is to help people enjoy the best possible quality of life in all circumstances," says Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg, President and CEO of CIUSSS West-Central Montreal. "This is especially true of geriatric medicine in our hospitals, long-term care residences and rehabilitation centres, where our aim is not just to prolong life, but to make it possible for our residents, clients and patients to live rich and fulfilling lives in an environment that best suits their individual needs."
Dr. Perls is Director of the New England Centenarian Study, at the Boston Medical Center, and Professor of Medicine, at Boston University. He is one of the few experts in the world specializing in the study of centenarians. Doctor Perls is also very knowledgeable in the area of anti-aging quackery. He collaborates with the United-States authorities investigating anti-aging clinics.
