The Québec Ombudsman is impartial and independent. Is mission is to assure that the rights of citizens are upheld in their dealings with the public service.
If you are not satisfied with the decision of the local or regional complaints commissioner or do not receive a response from the Commissioner within 45 days, you can turn to the Health and Social Services Ombudsman (Protecteur du citoyen). The Ombudsman will do a preliminary review of the complaint to see if it falls within the Ombudsman's jurisdiction. If need be, you will be directed to the appropriate resource.
