Nurses and doctors work as a team and have complementary roles, so you should have no hesitation about seeing a nurse. You have to see a nurse:
- to get an oral contraceptive;
- to receive care subsequent to an injury or surgery (suture removal, wound care and dressing, probe or colostomy care, intravenous drug administration, etc.);
- if you need advice on how to cope with a chronic disease;
You can be seen by a nurse, with or without an appointment, in all of Montréal's CIUSSSs, some medical clinics (including the network clinics) and many pharmacies. Use our links to find out how.
You can also get 24/7 advice from a nurse by calling 811.
